Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Charles C. and Elizabeth G. Safransky.

1956

Studies social studies and education at Marquette College.

1957

Receives a BA from St. Francis Major Seminary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and serves as private first class in the U.S. Army for two years.

1959

Marries Judy M. McMurrer and teaches history and English at North Division High School as an intern teacher for one semester.

1960

Becomes a teacher at Boca Ciega High School.

1962

Appointed department head of social studies and a student council sponsor at Seminole High School.

1965

Receives a Master of Arts from Stetson University in Deland, Florida.

1968

Appointed director of Clearwater Comprehensive Junior High School.

1972

Receives a Doctor of Philosophy from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.

1978

Serves as president of St. Petersburg Toastmasters.

1979

Receives the Outstanding Educator Award from Suncoast Community College.

1981

Appointed director of Mirror Lake Tomlinson Adult Vocational School in St. Petersburg, Florida.

1983

Receives the Great American Family Award from the St. Petersburg Association of Life Underwriters.

1986

Serves as director of administration at Pinellas County School in Clearwater, Florida.

1990

Becomes an adjunct professor of school law for Nova Southeastern University.

1991

Becomes assistant principal of Largo Middle School.

1992

Becomes administrator of Walter Pownall Service Center.

2005

Receives a Service Award from the Education Law Association.

Becomes a certified professional educator in the Florida Department of Education.
