Serves in the United States Army Reserve for six years.

Receives a Bachelor of Laws from Harvard University.

1961

Becomes a licensed corporations and securities attorney in the state of New York.

1965

Marries Fern Gelford.

1967

Becomes partner at Tolins & Lowenfels (now Law Offices of Lewis D. Lowenfels) in New York, New York.

1972

Joins the Federal Bar Association.

1974

Joins the Securities and Exchanges Committee of the New York County Lawyers Association.

1978

Joins the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee of the American Bar Association.

Serves as public governor of the American Stock Exchange (now Intercontinental Exchange, Inc.) for three years.
