1967

Dr. Hammond receives a Bachelor of Arts from Cambridge University in England.

1969

Dr. Hammond becomes a junior research fellow at Nuffield College at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England.

1974

Dr. Hammond receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge.

1975

Dr. Hammond serves as the joint managing editor of the Review of Economics Studies.

1976

Dr. Hammond is promoted to full professor at the University of Essex.

1977

Dr. Hammond becomes a fellow of The Econometric Society.

1979

Dr. Hammond marries Mrudula A. Patel, immigrates to the United States, and becomes a professor at Stanford University.

1983

Dr. Hammond serves as a Joseph A. Schumpeter visiting professor at the University of Graz in Austria.

1986

Dr. Hammond becomes a fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

1993

Dr. Hammond receives the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Research Award.

1995

Dr. Hammond co-authors an undergraduate textbook titled, “Mathematics for Economics Analysis.”

1998

Dr. Hammond co-edits the first volume of “Handbook of Utility Theory.”

2000

Dr. Hammond co-edits “Incentives, Organization and Public Economics.”

2002

Dr. Hammond is presented with an honorary doctorate in economic and social sciences from the Kiel University in Germany.

2004

Dr. Hammond co-edits the second volume of “Handbook of Utility Theory.”

2005

Dr. Hammond co-authors the first edition of “Further Mathematics for Economic Analysis” and is presented with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oslo in Norway.

2007

Dr. Hammond earns the title of Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and receives the Marie Curie Chair Award from the European Commission.

2009

Dr. Hammond receives a fellowship from The British Academy.

2010

Dr. Hammond becomes a professor of economics at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England and serves as a member of the standing committee for Section S2 of Economics and Economic History.

2017

Dr. Hammond is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who. He is also elected as an Economic Theory Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, where he presents the Sir John Hicks Lecture in Faro, Portugal.
