Born to Vernon Leon Rogers and Berta May (Riggs) Rogers in Jacksboro, Texas.

1960

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Tex Christian University.

1960

Becomes a sponsor of student newspapers for Fort Worth Public Schools through 1967.

1960

Teaches social studies within Fort Worth Indiana School District until 1967.

1964

Earns a Master of Arts in history from Tex Christian University.

1968

Writes as a columnist for The Azle News through 2018.

1968

Teaches as a professor of Texas History, Texas Government, and American History and Government at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth.

1980

Is vice president of the Azle Historical Museum Society through 1990 and later secretary from 1996 through 2016.

1982

Earns a Doctor of Philosophy in history from the University of North Texas.

1986

Receives the Excellence in Teaching Award from Northeast Campus Tarrant County College.
