A Timeline of Professional Milestones

1936

Dr. Donaldson is born in Birmingham, England to Henry and Esther Donaldson.

1959

Dr. Donaldson receives a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Birmingham and becomes the house physician at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham, England.

1960

Dr. Donaldson becomes the house surgeon at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the senior house officer in clinical pathology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

1961

Dr. Donaldson becomes an assistant resident medical officer and a registrar in general medicine at Leeds General Infirmary, in Leeds Teaching Hospitals in England.

1963

Dr. Donaldson becomes a member of the Royal College of Physicians.

1964

Dr. Donaldson becomes an honorary senior registrar in chemical pathology and a lecturer at the Institute for Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, an affiliate of University College London.

1969

Dr. Donaldson becomes member of the Royal College of Pathologists, prior to his 1970 appointment as consultant chemical pathologist at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill and Crawley Hospital in West Sussex.

1981

Dr. Donaldson becomes a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists.

1984

Dr. Donaldson serves as a consultant in chemical pathology at Gatwick Park Bupa Health Centre.

1991

Dr. Donaldson is appointed clinical director of pathology at East Surrey Hospital.

1995

Dr. Donaldson is appointed chairman of the Southwest Thames Chemical Pathology Advisory Group of the Southwest Thames Regional Health Authority.

1997

Dr. Donaldson is appointed deputy honorary editor of the Journal of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health.

1998

Dr. Donaldson authors “Psychiatric Disorders with a Biochemical Basis.”

1999

Dr. Donaldson becomes a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP).

2000

Dr. Donaldson becomes a registered European clinical chemist (EurClinChem) and is re-designated in 2013 as a European specialist in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine (EuSpLM).

2001

Dr. Donaldson becomes a chartered chemist, a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and a freeman of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London.

2002

Dr. Donaldson receives the Mori Felicitation Award from the International College of Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, and he becomes an elected member of the Guild of Freeman of the City of London.

2004

Dr. Donaldson becomes a member of the Athenaeum Club, London.

2006

Dr. Donaldson is elected Liveryman of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London.

2017

Dr. Donaldson is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and is named a Distinguished Humanitarian by Marquis Who’s Who.
