Dr. Beattie is born in Cranston, Rhode Island to Kenneth Allen and Lillian Francis Scott.

1956

Dr. Beattie receives a Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.

1958

Dr. Beattie receives a Master of Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

1961

Dr. Beattie receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh.

1961

Dr. Beattie becomes a research associate at the University of Pittsburgh.

1967

Dr. Beattie becomes a research associate at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

1968

Dr. Beattie joins the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (now the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) in New York, New York.

1975

Dr. Beattie joins the Journal of Bioenergetics.

1976

Dr. Beattie becomes a professor of biochemistry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

1979

Dr. Beattie is awarded by the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Association for Women in Science.

Dr. Beattie is appointed dean of Premedical and Pharmacy programs at Oman Medical College.
