A Timeline of Professional Milestones

1966

Ms. Miculinic receives an Associate of Arts from Morton College in Cicero, Illinois.

1968

Ms. Miculinic receives a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Illinois.

1968

Ms. Miculinic is certified as a teacher for grades six through 12 by the Illinois State Board of Education and becomes a language arts teacher for Cicero Public Schools.

1973

Ms. Miculinic receives a Master of Arts in English from DePaul University.

1981

Ms. Miculinic becomes a member of the adjunct English faculty at Morton College and the adjunct English, Spanish and Humanities faculty at Moraine Valley Community College.

1982

Ms. Miculinic becomes a member of the adjunct English faculty at the College of DuPage.

1990

Ms. Miculinic becomes an English and Spanish teacher at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois.

1991

Ms. Miculinic receives a Master of Arts in Spanish from Roosevelt University.

1991

Ms. Miculinic joins the tenured faculty of Spanish, Latin American Culture and English at Morton College.

1993

Ms. Miculinic receives a Faculty Award for Outstanding Service from the Morton College Foundation.

1994

Ms. Miculinic develops a program for which Morton College is awarded the Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award from the Illinois Community College Board.

1994

Ms. Miculinic receives the Outstanding Community College Faculty Award from the Illinois Community College Board.

1997

Ms. Miculinic conducts sabbatical research for one year at La Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and El Colegio de México in Mexico City.

1998

Ms. Miculinic recruits educators from Mexico, develops a literacy and culture program, and brings educators to the U.S. for a series of seminars and workshops.

2002

For four years, Ms. Miculinic develops programs and chairs the Title V Hispanic Culture Initiative for educators and professionals.

2007

Ms. Miculinic takes early retirement from Morton College and continue to teach part-time as an adjunct instructor.

2008

Ms. Miculinic serves as a volunteer for the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign.

2015

Ms. Miculinic serves as a volunteer for the Hillary for America Campaign for one year.

2017

Ms. Miculinic spends one year researching and translating antiquarian primary sources related to Spain and Latin America.

2019

Ms. Miculinic authors the higher education textbook, “Latin American Culture & Civilization,” published by Kendall Hunt.
