Ms. Darner is born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Leslie and Mary Newell Darner.

1967

Ms. Darner receives a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois.

1968

Ms. Darner receives a Master of Science from the University of Illinois.

1968

Ms. Darner becomes a speech pathologist and hearing clinician for the Special School District of St. Louis County in Missouri.

1971

Ms. Darner becomes a speech pathologist for Arlington Public Schools.

1976

Ms. Darner receives a Virginia state license for speech pathology.

1985

Ms. Darner attends the UN Conference for Women Ending the International Decade of Women.

1988

Ms. Darner serves as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica with PVO, LTD, providing speech therapy and audiology.

1991

Ms. Darner becomes a member of the Virginia House of Delegates of the Virginia General Assembly.

2004

Ms. Darner retires from the Virginia House of Delegates.

2008

Ms. Darner retires from Arlington Public Schools.

2009

Ms. Darner receives the Arlington Community Foundation Spirit of Community Award for outstanding service to Arlington.

2010

Ms. Darner provides teacher training in Liberia with the Liberian Orphanage Education Project.

2017

Ms. Darner provides teacher training for her church mission in the Honduras Independence Bilingual School.
