Born to Urban Franz Eger and Dorothy Lucile Oblender Eger in Philadelphia, PA.

1963

Conducts coursework at Muhlenberg College.

1965

Conducts coursework at Emory University.

1965

Teaches as a professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at Carthage College until 1989.

1970

Is a member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese and the Modern Language Association until 1980.

1970

Is a member of the Raza Unida Party and Chicano Studies of Wisconsin until 1980.

1975

Obtains a Doctor of Philosophy from Universidad Jaime Balmes in Guadalajara, Mexico.

1976

Works as a secretary for United Migrant Opportunity Services in Milwaukee, WI until 1979.

1982

Publishes “A Bibliography of Criticism of Contemporary Chicano Literature.”

1986

Is awarded the National Endowment for the Humanities Seminar in Chicano Literature with Don Luis Leal.

1987

Earns a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

1990

Is an electronic services librarian and reference librarian at Carthage College’s Hedberg Library until 2009.

2009

Is appointed professor emerita of Carthage College.
