Graduates from East High School in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Serves in the U.S. Army until November 1962, where he is stationed in South Korea for one year and earns a Black Belt in Judo and Karate.
1963
Teaches Judo, Karat and Jujitsu on a full scholarship at Cumberland College, where he becomes known as “The Father of Judo.”
1965
Earns a Bachelor of Science in physical sciences from Cumberland College, which is now the University of the Cumberlands.
1968
Teaches Judo, Karat and Jujitsu at the University of Tennessee until 1980 under his sponsor, Head Football Coach Johnny Majors.
1969
Becomes a realtor.
2004
Is inducted into the University of the Cumberlands Hall of Fame.
2014
Receives a Certificate of Appreciation from the Consul of the Republic of South Korea for his help to General Choe and the South Korean people.
2015
Conducts work with the Siemens Corporation’s Wind Turbine Division.
2016
Participates in the Senior Olympics, winning numerous gold, silver and bronze medals over the years.
2022
Is a realtor with The Real Estate Office in Oak Ridge, TN, where he is known as “The Motel Man” due to his specialization in motel sales and management.

Continues to write four books.
