Dr. Buchin joins the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant in the Chemical Corps.

Dr. Buchin receives a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from Harvard University as a George F. Baker Scholar.

Dr. Buchin serves as assistant to treasurer at Bay State Abrasives.

Dr. Buchin marries Jacqueline Thurber Chase.
