Receives a BS in pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and is a teaching assistant in animal physiology.

1984

Is a staff pharmacist at the Sun Belt Regional Medical Center until 1987.

1985

Achieves a MS in biology from the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

1988

Earns a PhD in biology from the Univ. of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; Receives the Wendell Griffith Award in Biochem.

1989

Is a staff pharmacist at the St. Louis University Hospital until 1991.

1991

Attains an MD from the Saint Louis Univ. School of Medicine and is a medicine intern of St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital Program until 1992.

1992

Is an internal medicine resident at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals with the Baylor College of Medicine until 1994.

1994

Is a fellow in endocrinology of the Joint Univ. of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine Training Program until 1997.

1994

Teaches as a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine until 1997.
