1948

Mr. Burns graduates from Piedmont High School.

1952

Mr. Burns receives a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Stanford University.

1952

Mr. Burns serves in the U.S. Army and receives the American Honor Medal.

1954

Mr. Burns becomes an account executive for Westinghouse Broadcasting Company in San Francisco, California.

1956

Mr. Burns joins the Piedmont Junior Chamber of Commerce.

1961

Mr. Burns becomes advertising and marketing director of the Philadelphia Reading Corporation in Elizabeth, New Jersey and New York, New York.

1965

Mr. Burns is appointed vice president of Edward S. Kellogg Company in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.

1968

Mr. Burns is appointed vice president of Gross, Pera, Rockey Inc. in San Francisco, California.
