Ms. Fremont-Smith is born in Boston, Massachusetts to Max and Frances Ritvo.

1948

Ms. Fremont-Smith graduates from Wellesley College with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Art, and is admitted to practice in the state of Massachusetts.

1951

Ms. Fremont-Smith graduates cum laude from Boston University, earning an LLB.

1958

Ms. Fremont-Smith becomes an instructor in the department of political science at Wellesley College.

1961

Ms. Fremont-Smith serves as assistant attorney general of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

1963

Ms. Fremont-Smith becomes project director of the Russell Sage Foundation in Boston, Massachusetts.

1964

Ms. Fremont-Smith joins Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP (now Choate) as an associate.

1965
