Dr. Stevos is born in Providence, Rhode Island to Josephus Caldwell and Patricia Anita Caldwell Smith.
1965
Dr. Stevos becomes a teacher for the Providence School Department.
1971
Dr. Stevos is appointed Head of the Social Studies Department at Central High School in Providence, Rhode Island.
1976
Dr. Stevos becomes a social studies supervisor for the Providence School Department.
1990
Dr. Stevos is appointed director of program and staff development for the Providence School Department.
1991
Dr. Stevos receives the Education Award from the Providence National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
1992
Dr. Stevos is appointed director of strategic planning and professional development for the Providence School Department.
1992
Dr. Stevos receives the National Educator Award from the Milken Family Foundation, which includes a $25,000 prize.
1994
Dr. Stevos serves on the Carter G. Woodson Book Award Committee of the National Council for Social Studies.
1996
Dr. Stevos authors “Review of Till Victory is Won.”
1997
Dr. Stevos receives a Master of Education from Rhode Island College.
2003
Dr. Stevos joins the adjunct faculty at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.

Dr. Stevos receives a Doctor of Philosophy from University of Rhode Island.

Dr. Stevos joins the adjunct faculty at Rhode Island College.

Dr. Stevos receives the George T. Downing Award for Education from the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society.
2011
Dr. Stevos is appointed president of the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society.

Dr. Stevos joins Rhode Island State Organization (formerly Alpha Omega State), the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
2019
Dr. Stevos receives the Charles B. Willard Achievement Award from the Rhode Island College Alumni Association, presented to a graduate who has brought honor through distinguished achievement in his/her field.
