Mr. Goodyear is born in Los Angeles, California to Ronald and Lillian Goodyear.

1952

Mr. Goodyear receives a bachelor’s degree in design from the University of Michigan.

1953

Mr. Goodyear marries Anne Dixon.

1954

Mr. Goodyear receives a master’s degree in design from the University of Michigan.

1956

Mr. Goodyear becomes an instructor at the University of Michigan.

1962

Mr. Goodyear becomes an instructor at the University of Massachusetts.

1962

Mr. Goodyear receives a grant from the Graham Foundation.

1964

Mr. Goodyear becomes a professor in the Mason Gross School of Visual Art at Rutgers University, where he also eventually becomes chairman of the Art Department.

1964

Mr. Goodyear holds a solo show at Amel Gallery in New York, New York.

1965

Mr. Goodyear participates in “Art of the Responsive Eye,” a group show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

1966

Mr. Goodyear participates in a group show at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

1972

Mr. Goodyear holds a solo show at the Inhibodress Gallery in Sydney, Australia.

1987

Mr. Goodyear participates in a group show at the Macedonia Center for Contemporary Art in Thessalonika, Greece.

1997

Mr. Goodyear is named Professor Emeritus in the Mason Gross School of Visual at Rutgers University.

2000

Mr. Goodyear holds a major retrospective at the Michener Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Goodyear co-curates the “Dada Country” exhibit at the Hunterdon Museum of Art in Clifton, New Jersey.

Mr. Goodyear exhibits “10 Ways” at RCM Galerie in Paris, France.
