1929

Mr. Bunch is born in Richmond, Virginia to Jennings Bryan Bunch Sr. and Cora Irving Bunch.

1950

Mr. Bunch receives a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with distinction from the Virginia Military Institute.

1950

Mr. Bunch becomes an engineer in training at the Virginia Electric and Power Company in Alexandria and Richmond, Virginia.

1950

Mr. Bunch serves in the U.S. Army, earning the rank of first lieutenant.

1953

Mr. Bunch becomes a test engineer for General Electric and follows with engineering and marketing assignments in several locations.

1962

Mr. Bunch becomes a district application engineer for General Electric in Pittsburgh and later a regional application engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1969

Mr. Bunch receives a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

1982

Mr. Bunch becomes a protective relaying application engineer for General Electric in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

1984

Mr. Bunch serves as principal investigator of “Guidelines for Evaluating Distribution Automation” for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) project 2021-1, EL-3728 performed by General Electric with assistance from Public Service Electric and Gas Company.

1990

Mr. Bunch becomes a Fellow of the IEEE.

1992

Mr. Bunch provides limited consulting service for electric utility distribution system automation to Star Design in Moorestown, New Jersey following his retirement from General Electric in December 1991.

1993

Mr. Bunch is appointed executive director of Sending Experienced Retired Volunteers Everywhere (SERVE).

2005

Mr. Bunch becomes board chair of the American International Cultural Exchange Institute and continues until 2012.
