Dr. Del Bene is born in Youngstown, Ohio to Anthony Joseph and Elizabeth Josephine Del Bene.

Dr. Del Bene receives a Bachelor of Science in education from Youngstown State University.
1965
Dr. Del Bene receives a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Youngstown State University.
1968
Dr. Del Bene receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cincinnati.
1968
Dr. Del Bene becomes a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
1969
Dr. Del Bene becomes a postdoctoral fellow at the Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
