Mr. Foley is born in Neptune, New Jersey to John and Juana Foley.

1963

Mr. Foley receives a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Cornell University.

1963

Mr. Foley becomes a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.

1965

Mr. Foley receives a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.

1985

Mr. Foley begins his career as a literary critic.

1987

Mr. Foley authors “Letters/Lights-Words for Adelle.”

1988

Mr. Foley becomes executive producer-in-charge of the Poetry Program at station KPFA-FM in Berkeley, California.

1989

Mr. Foley serves as secretary of the San Francisco chapter of the National Poetry Association.

Mr. Foley becomes editor-in-chief of Poetry USA in Oakland, California.
