Earns a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from St. Mary’s University.

Marries Rose Lozano on Feb. 28; becomes the assistant manager of purchasing at Southwest Research Institute.

1974

Becomes the manager of purchasing at Southwest Research Institute.

1975

Becomes an instructor at San Antonio College and later at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1976.

1978

Is the assistant director of materials management at Southwest Research Institute.

1980

Becomes the director of corporate travel and of materials management at Southwest Research Institute.

1980

Teaches as an adjunct professor of economics and supply chain management Webster University in San Antonio, TX, and continues to do so.

1983

Is the chairman of the San Antonio Regional Minority Purchasing Council.
