Dr. Wolbers requested, and was approved, for a transfer from active duty in the U.S. Navy to an inactive status in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Dr. Wolbers becomes an adjunct professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Wolbers is promoted to deputy director of flight crew systems at McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Co.

Dr. Wolbers serves as a consultant for NASA in Washington, D.C.
