1951
Dr. Amick is born in Douglas, Wyoming to Roy N. and Betty Jane Amick.
1974
Dr. Amick receives a Bachelor of Science in civil and architectural engineering from the University of Wyoming, and begins his career as an engineer at EDS Nuclear in San Francisco, California.
1976
Dr. Amick receives a Master of Science in structural engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and becomes a research engineer at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
1977
Dr. Amick becomes a registered Professional Engineer in California.
1978
Dr. Amick becomes an engineer at Liftech Consultants Inc. in Oakland, California.
1980
Dr. Amick earns a Master of Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, becomes a member of the University of Wyoming Alumni Association, and serves as an assistant professor at Chadron State College in Nebraska.
1983
Dr. Amick serves as an instructor at Sheridan College of the Northern Wyoming Community College District.
1985
Dr. Amick becomes senior engineer at Bolt Beranek and Newman (now Raytheon Company).
1990
Dr. Amick serves as a senior consulting engineer and director at Acentech Incorporated.
1991
Dr. Amick begins work on standards committees of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology.
1996
Dr. Amick becomes a senior consulting engineer at Colin Gordon Associates in Brisbane, California.
1998
Dr. Amick becomes a technical expert with the International Standards Organization.
2004
Dr. Amick completes his education with a PhD in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and becomes vice president of Colin Gordon Associates.
2005
Dr. Amick serves as organizer, chair, and editor of “Buildings for Nanoscale Research and Beyond” for the SPIE Conference 5933 in San Diego, California.
2011
Dr. Amick contributes to “Structural Dynamics of Electronic and Photonic Systems,” and receives the Willis J. Whitfield Award from Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology.

Dr. Amick contributes to “Buildings for Advanced Technology.”
2017
Dr. Amick contributes to the “Semiconductor Manufacturing Handbook.”

Dr. Amick receives the President’s Award from the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology.
