1948
Dr. Pursel-Williams is born in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to Lee LaVerne and Geraldine May Pursel.
1966
Dr. Pursel-Williams studies courses at Lycoming College.
1968
Dr. Pursel-Williams receives a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as the Optometrists Scholarship from the Women’s Auxiliary of Pennsylvania.
1970
Dr. Pursel-Williams receives another scholarship and another grant, and graduates from the College of Optometry at Salus University with a Bachelor of Science.
1972
Dr. Pursel-Williams receives a Doctor of Optometry and a Clinical Efficiency Award from Salus University.
1973
Dr. Pursel-Williams becomes a research optometrist of soft lens materials at Gumpelmayer Optik in Vienna, Austria.
1974
Dr. Pursel-Williams serves as an optometrist at Sterling Optical Contact Lens Center (now Sterling Optical) in Washington, D.C.
1977
Dr. Pursel-Williams serves as a member of the Optometric Center of the Nation’s Capital.
1980
Dr. Pursel-Williams establishes a private practice in optometry in Springfield, Virginia.
2017
Dr. Pursel-Williams is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
