Dr. Curreri is born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anthony Rudolph and Dorothea Christiana Curreri.
1958
Dr. Curreri receives a Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College.
1962
Dr. Curreri receives a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and begins an internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
1963
Dr. Curreri begins a surgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
1968
Dr. Curreri serves in the U.S. Army, rising in the ranks to lieutenant colonel.
1971
Dr. Curreri becomes an assistant professor of surgery at Southwestern Medical Center at the University of Texas.
1972
Dr. Curreri receives the Research Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health.
1974
Dr. Curreri becomes an associate professor of surgery at the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Washington.
1977
Dr. Curreri becomes a full professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College at Cornell University.
1980
Dr. Curreri is appointed president of the Society of University Surgeons.
1981
Dr. Curreri is appointed chairman of surgery at the College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, where he also serves as a professor.

Dr. Curreri is appointed chairman of the Surgery, Anesthesiology and Trauma Study Section of the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Curreri serves as commissioner of the Physician Payment Review Commission.
