Dr. McBride is born in New York, New York to William Joseph and Irene May McBride.

Dr. McBride receives a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University and is awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for postgraduate studies at the University of Lille.
1962
Dr. McBride receives a Master of Arts from Yale University.
1964
Dr. McBride earns a PhD from Yale University and joins the faculty as an instructor of philosophy.
1965
Dr. McBride marries Angela Barron.
1966
Dr. McBride becomes an assistant professor at Yale University.

Dr. McBride becomes an associate professor at Yale University and authors “Fundamental Change in Law and Society.”

Dr. McBride becomes an associate professor at Purdue University.

Dr. McBride earns the title of professor at Purdue University.

Dr. McBride serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Sartre Society of North America, and authors “Sartre’s Political Theory.”

Dr. McBride becomes a Fulbright Lecturer at Sofia University in Bulgaria.

Dr. McBride authors “Philosophical Reflections on the Changes in Eastern Europe.”

Dr. McBride becomes an Arthur G. Hansen Distinguished Professor at Purdue University and authors “From Yugoslav Praxis to Global Pathos.”

Dr. McBride assumes the title of Secretary General of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies, a position he holds until 2013.
