Ms. Garrahan-Masters is born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Francis Edward and Mary Patricia Garrahan.

Ms. Garrahan-Masters begins her studies at Georgetown University.

While working part-time as a staff coordinator with Garrahan Equipment Inc., Ms. Garrahan-Masters graduates with honors from Villanova University, receiving a Bachelor of Art in sociology.
1974
Ms. Garrahan-Masters begins work as a geriatrics case worker with the Schuylkill County Office of Senior Services in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and serves as a Eucharistic Minister with St. Richard’s Roman Catholic Church.
1980
Ms. Garrahan-Masters becomes the social service director at Dowden Nursing Home in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
1981
Ms. Garrahan-Masters joins the St. Francis County House as the director of Admissions.
1983
Ms. Garrahan-Masters earns a master’s degree in social sciences, law, and social policy from Bryn Mawr College.
