Dr. Tarr is born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Charles Larned and Mary Katherine Tarr.

1961

Dr. Tarr receives a Bachelor of Science in physics as a Morehead Scholar from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

1966

Dr. Tarr receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

1966

Dr. Tarr becomes a research associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Pittsburgh.

1968

Dr. Tarr becomes a faculty member at the University of Maine.

1970

Dr. Tarr receives a grant from NASA.

1972

Dr. Tarr receives a grant from the National Science Foundation.

1973

Dr. Tarr becomes an associate professor of physics at the University of Maine.

1977

Dr. Tarr is appointed Department Chairman at the University of Maine.
