Ms. Gurney is born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Arthur Bullivant and Eva May Hartung.

1951

Ms. Gurney receives a Bachelor of Arts from Montclair State College.

1951

Ms. Gurney becomes an elementary teacher for Verona Schools in New Jersey for three years. She returns to this position in 1955 for another three years.

1954

Ms. Gurney becomes an elementary teacher at Pine Hill Union School in Cheektowaga, New York.

1957

Ms. Gurney marries Charles William Gurney.

1960

Ms. Gurney becomes an organizer at Principal Migrant School in Brigham City, Utah.

1964

Ms. Gurney serves as a Bible School director in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

1965

Ms. Gurney becomes an elementary teacher at Mary C. House School in Exton, Pennsylvania.

1970

Ms. Gurney becomes an English teacher at Shenendehowa Central School in Clifton Park, New York.

1973

Ms. Gurney receives a Master of Arts from the University at Albany.

1974

Ms. Gurney is selected as ninth grade dean.

1974

Ms. Gurney teaches 9 EIR English/Remedial RDG until 1980.

1980

Ms. Gurney teaches FOCUS, an alternative education program, until 1984.

1984

Ms. Gurney returns to teaching the regular ninth grade program until her retirement in 1991.

1987

Ms. Gurney serves as an advisor for the Senior High Girls Bowling Team.

1991

Ms. Gurney retires as an educator.
