Ms. Faber is born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Paul Mitchell and Sandra Kydd.

1949

Ms. Faber receives a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College.

1949

Ms. Faber becomes a research associate at The Rockefeller University in New York City, New York.

1953

Ms. Faber marries Edward T. Faber.

1967

Ms. Faber studies postgraduate courses at Yale University, where she serves as a research associate.

1968

Ms. Faber receives a Master of Arts from California State University, San Francisco.

1971

Ms. Faber becomes partner at Madrone Associates in San Rafael, California.

1972

Ms. Faber becomes an instructor at the College of Marin in Kentfield, California.

1982

Ms. Faber authors “Common Wetlands Plants,” which receives the AEP Award the following year.

1982

Ms. Faber receives the Outstanding Environmental Document Award from the Association of Environmental Professionals.

1983

Ms. Faber becomes an editor for the Fremontia California Native Plant Society in Sacramento, California.

1990

Ms. Faber is named Environmentalist of the Year by the Marin Environmental Alliance.

Ms. Faber becomes a publisher and director of California Native Plant Society Press.

1995

Ms. Faber is named to Marin County Women’s Hall of Fame.

Ms. Faber serves as editor of California’s Wild Gardens.
