1933

Dr. Koenig is born in Red Wing, Minnesota to William C. and Florence E. Koenig.

1955

Dr. Koenig graduates cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, receiving a Bachelor of Science. He also becomes supervisor of music at Florence High School in Wisconsin.

1958

Dr. Koenig becomes director of instrumental music for Chetek Public Schools in Wisconsin.

1962

Dr. Koenig becomes a teacher of instrumental music and humanities at Palo Alto Senior High School in California.

1964

Dr. Koenig becomes an assistant at St. John’s Presbyterian Church in San Francisco, California.

1965

Dr. Koenig receives a Master of Arts in educational administration from the University of Minnesota.

1966

Dr. Koenig becomes a teacher of general music at Jordan Junior High School in Palo Alto, California.

1969

Dr. Koenig graduates magna cum laude from the San Francisco Theological Seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity.

1969

Dr. Koenig becomes an instructor of college education at the University of Minnesota.

1970

Dr. Koenig is ordained to ministry in the Presbyterian Church of the USA.

1971

Dr. Koenig becomes administrative assistant to the president of Lakewood State Community College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

1972

Dr. Koenig becomes assistant to the executive director and coordinator of commission and personnel services for the Minnesota Higher Education Coordinating Board in St. Paul, Minnesota.

1973

Dr. Koenig receives a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Minnesota.

1974

Dr. Koenig becomes an instructor at Inver Hills Community College and serves as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

1985

Dr. Koenig becomes senior pastor at Grove Presbyterian Church in Danville, Pennsylvania.

1988

Dr. Koenig becomes senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church in South St. Paul, Minnesota.

1999

Dr. Koenig becomes stated supply pastor of Couderay and Radisson Presbyterian Churches in Wisconsin.

2002

Dr. Koenig is elected president of the College of Education and Human Development Alumni Society at the University of Minnesota.

2006

Dr. Koenig is nominated among one the 100 Most Distinguished Alumni of University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development.

2010

For eight years, Dr. Koenig serves as a chaplain at Timber Hills Presbyterian Homes in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
