Ms. Armstrong is born in Longview, Texas to Acey Frank and Lois Johnson.
1956
Ms. Armstrong receives a Bachelor of Science from Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.
1966
Ms. Armstrong becomes a kindergarten through 2nd grade teacher in the Northside Independent School District.
1976
Ms. Armstrong is named Northside Teacher of the Year by the Northside Teachers Association.
1983
Ms. Armstrong is nominated for the Trinity Prize for Outstanding Educator and presents the Award for Distinguished Teacher from the Northside Independent School District.
1986
Ms. Armstrong becomes a certified supervisor through Our Lady of the Lake University.
1987
Ms. Armstrong receives a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio and becomes the supervisor of social studies and kindergarten in the Northside Independent School District.
1991
Ms. Armstrong serves as a teaching associate at the University of Texas at San Antonio and as a consultant for Scott Foresman Book Company.
1993
Ms. Armstrong receives the Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
1993
Ms. Armstrong joins the faculty at the University of Texas at San Antonio as director of teacher certification.
1993
Ms. Armstrong joins the board of directors of the Institute of Texan Cultures.
1994
Ms. Armstrong joins the Standing Committee on Teacher Education and the Division of Education of the Consortium of Local Districts at the University of Texas.
