1953

Dr. Kent receives the first of several certificates from the American Institute of Banking in Dayton, Ohio and Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, California. He also becomes head teller and general ledger at Merchants National Bank and Trust Company in Dayton, Ohio.

1956

Dr. Kent receives a diploma from the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps School in Fort Lee, Virginia.

1958

Dr. Kent becomes branch utility and head office teller at Winters National Bank & Trust Company in Dayton, Ohio.

1961

Dr. Kent becomes department manager and pro-cashier at Union Bank in Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks, California.

1968

Dr. Kent becomes deputy county auditor for the Montgomery County auditor in Dayton, Ohio.

1970

Dr. Kent serves as assistant to the savings and branch operations manager and loan officer at the Tucson Federal Savings and Loan Association.

1973

Dr. Kent receives a certificate from the American Savings & Loan Institute and studies courses at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona.

1974

Dr. Kent becomes assistant vice president of Mechanics National Bank in Bell, California.

1977

Dr. Kent graduates cum laude from Los Angeles City College, receiving an Associate of Arts. He also becomes an instructional materials laboratory assistant at California State University in Northridge, California.

1979

Dr. Kent graduates cum laude from California State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts. He also becomes an assistant to the department chair and program director at San Francisco State University.

1980

Dr. Kent studies continuing education courses at the City College of San Francisco. He also serves as the program developer of the Native American Indian Seniors Center in San Francisco, California.

1981

Dr. Kent graduates Phi Delta Kappa with honors from San Francisco State University, receiving a Master of Arts with culminating study. He also studies continuing education courses at Skyline College in San Bruno, California.

1982

Dr. Kent becomes a University Teaching Fellow and begins an internship in developmental education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

1985

Dr. Kent receives a Doctor of Philosophy from Miami University.

1987

Dr. Kent becomes the director of education and vocational training at the Dayton Job Corps Center in the Department of Labor in Dayton, Ohio.

1988

Dr. Kent studies continuing education courses at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio. He also becomes director of administration at the Mental Health Resources Corporation in Xenia, Ohio.

1990

Dr. Kent becomes director of program development at Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, as well as a counselor at Dayton Urban League.

1991

Dr. Kent studies continuing education courses at Communiversity at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio.

1992

Dr. Kent becomes director of development at the Germaine Language Center.

1993

Dr. Kent becomes a licensed social worker through the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board in Ohio. He also serves as president, chief executive officer, and chairman of the board of Kent/Universal Company, Inc. in Orlando, Florida.
