1970
Dr. John O. Hallquist graduates magna cum laude from Western Michigan University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering.
1971
John receives a Master of Science in engineering mechanics from Michigan Technological University (MTU).
1973
John becomes a 15-year employee of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) where he starts work in Nuclear Test Engineering.
1974
John receives a Doctor of Philosophy in mechanical engineering and engineering mechanics from MTU.
1975
John moves on to Nuclear Explosives Engineering and finishes his career in the Physics Department, developing software for predicting containment of underground nuclear explosions.
1986
John receives the Department of Energy Award for Significant Contributions to the Nuclear Weapons Program.
1987
John founds the Livermore Software Technology Corporation, LSTC, where he serves as president.
2001
John becomes a member of the Academy of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at MTU.
2003
John receives the Applied Mechanics Division Award from The American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
2007
John becomes a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
2017
John is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
