1940

Dr. Cody is born in Detroit, Michigan to Burns J. and Margaret Cody.

1962

Dr. Cody receives a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Chicago.

1965

Dr. Cody receives a Licentiate of Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago.

1966

Dr. Cody receives a Master of Arts from Loyola University Chicago.

1975

Dr. Cody receives a Master of Divinity from Loyola University Chicago.

1977

Dr. Cody is appointed headmaster of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

1980

Dr. Cody receives a Doctor of Philosophy in educational administration from the Ohio State University.

1981

Dr. Cody becomes director of the Chapel School in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

1983

Dr. Cody becomes an assistant professor of education and assistant dean of the School of Education and Human Services at the University of Detroit.

1984

Dr. Cody becomes University Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry of the University of Detroit.

1987

Dr. Cody becomes associate professor of education and Director of the University of Detroit Center for Economic Education.

1991

Dr. Cody becomes principal of Grand Rapids West Catholic High School and publishes “Manual of Educational Risk Management,” co-authored with John Dise J.D.

1992

Dr. Cody marries Shirley Black.

1995

Dr. Cody is appointed headmaster of the Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley, California.

1998

Dr. Cody becomes academic dean of Kalamazoo Central High School.

2000

Dr. Cody is named research coordinator of the English language teachers program at University of Guarulhos in Sao Paulo State, Brazil, and becomes board member of the Kalamazoo Catholic School Board.

2002

Dr. Cody becomes director of the Kalamazoo Central High School Small Learning Communities Project.

2003

Dr. Cody is appointed to Kalamazoo City Planning Commission.

2005

Dr. Cody becomes an adjunct professor and academic coordinator at Spring Arbor University.

2011

Dr. Cody wins the 100 Butterfly in the U.S. Senior Olympics Championships and is voted Swimmer of the Year for Michigan by Michigan Masters Swimming.
