Mr. Knesel is born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Ernest Arthur and Catherine Charlotte Knesel.

Mr. Knesel studies at St. John Vianney Seminary in Savannah, Georgia.
1963
Mr. Knesel studies at Armstrong College in Savannah, Georgia.
1966
Mr. Knesel becomes a technologist for the American Biological Control Laboratory in Tenafly, New Jersey.
1968
Mr. Knesel marries Lavina Lynn Menge and begins their most successful endeavor, their family.

Mr. Knesel receives a Bachelor of Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, and becomes a senior technologist at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey.
1969
Mr. Knesel founds Biomedical Reference Laboratories, Inc., where he serves as vice president in Burlington, North Carolina. This company became Laboratory Corporation of America in 1995.
1970
Mr. Knesel receives a Master of Science in biochemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Mr. Knesel is certified as a clinical chemist through the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC).

Mr. Knesel becomes senior vice president of Roche Biomedical Laboratories, Inc.
1989
Mr. Knesel founds Roche Image Analysis Systems, Inc., where he serves as president in Elon, North Carolina.
1996
Mr. Knesel founds Autocyte, Inc., where he serves as executive vice president.

Mr. Knesel founds TriPath Imaging, where he serves as executive vice president.

Mr. Knesel serves as a consultant for True North Group.
2001
Mr. Knesel founds Select Diagnostics Inc., where he serves as president.

Mr. Knesel co-founds Select Laboratory Partners, where he serves as chief executive officer and chairman.

Mr. Knesel founds Select Laboratories in South Carolina.

Mt. Knesel founds CellSolutions, LLC, where he serves as chief executive officer and chairman.

Mr. Knesel co-founds Select Lab Software, Select Reference Lab, ExCell Diagnostics, Select Multigen Diagnostics, and additional businesses including CellSolutions, GmbH in Germany.
