Dr. Jha receives a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur in India.
1972
Dr. Jha conducts research and provides teaching and consulting services.
1973
Dr. Jha receives a Master of Science in transportation and highway engineering from West Virginia University.
1977
Dr. Jha receives a Doctor of Philosophy in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He also publishes a research report, “Stabilization of Oklahoma Shales.”
1988
Dr. Jha serves as a university professor.
1993
Dr. Jha publishes a book, “A Handbook of Civil Management and Civil Drawing,” published by Central Book Depot in Allahabad, India.
1994
Dr. Jha is appointed chair of the Department of Civil Engineering at Gorakhpur University in India. He also publishes a book, “An Introduction to Engineering for Hilly Regions,” published by Central Book Depot in Allahabad, India.
1995
Dr. Jha serves as a consulting engineer.
1999
Dr. Jha becomes a senior geotechnical engineer for the Department of Transportation.
2000
Dr. Jha spends two years teaching part-time at Purdue University-Indianapolis.
2001
Dr. Jha starts working in more than one state as a Licensed Professional Engineer.
2005
Dr. Jha edits and writes the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) geotechnical manual.
2007
Dr. Jha continues geotechnical research, writing geotechnical reports, and guiding new engineers.
2016
Dr. Jha chairs the advisory committee for the international seminar on emerging trends in civil engineering.
2018
Dr. Jha continues teaching, research, and consulting, focusing on soil mechanics, soil stabilization, geotechnical engineering, foundations, pavements, clay mineralogy, and physiochemical properties of soils.
