Dr. Eaton is born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Charles Barker and Dorothy Helen Eaton.

Dr. Eaton receives a Master of Science in marine biology from the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at the University of California.

Dr. Eaton receives a Doctor of Philosophy in neuroscience from the University of California.
1973
Dr. Eaton becomes an assistant professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
1974
Dr. Eaton serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as an airborne medical technician.
1978
Dr. Eaton becomes is promoted to associate professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Eaton becomes a full professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Eaton becomes a professor in the Department of Physiology at the Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
