Dr. Bivens is born in Madison, Indiana to Nelson and Virginia Bivens.

1960

Dr. Bivens receives a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University’s George Peabody College of Education and Human Development.

1960

Dr. Bivens becomes a teacher in Broward County Schools in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

1961

Dr. Bivens becomes a teacher in Jefferson County Schools in Louisville, Kentucky.

1962

Dr. Bivens becomes a teacher in Fort Knox Schools in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

1964

Dr. Bivens becomes a teacher in Madison Consolidated Schools in Indiana.

1966

Dr. Bivens receives a Master of Arts from Vanderbilt University’s George Peabody College of Education and Human Development.

1976

Dr. Bivens becomes a member of the K-Adult Council of Nova School in Fort Lauderdale.

1982

Dr. Bivens receives a Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University.

1982

Dr. Bivens authors “Boots, Butterflies, and Dragons.”

1990

Dr. Bivens receives the Sara Ferguson Achievement Award from The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

1994

Dr. Bivens is appointed chairman of the International Nominations Committee of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

1995

Dr. Bivens serves as Florida State President of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Dr. Bivens attends the World Confederation of Organizations of the Teaching Profession (WCOTP) in Melbourne, Australia.
