A Timeline of Professional Milestones

1944

Mr. Reese is born in San Antonio, Texas to Charles Woodrow and Mary Ruth Reese.

1961

Mr. Reese achieves the Eagle Scout rank, is elected to the Order of the Arrow, and earns the God and Country Award.

1966

Mr. Reese graduates cum laude from Washington and Lee University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts, after receiving the Robert E. Lee Research Scholarship.

1969

Mr. Reese receives a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Boalt Hall School of Law of the University of California Berkeley.

1970

Mr. Reese is admitted to practice in the state of California, and becomes an associate at McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen in San Francisco, California.

1976

Mr. Reese is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, and also becomes an honorary trustee of the Orinda Foundation in Orinda, California.

1977

Mr. Reese becomes managing trustee of the Clotilde deMartini Trusts and their real estate properties in San Francisco, California.

1978

Mr. Reese becomes assistant general counsel for Kaiser Cement Corporation in Oakland, California.

1981

Mr. Reese joins the Pacific Union Club in San Francisco, California, the investment partnership of Reese Interests LLC in Houston, Texas, and the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood in San Francisco, California.

1987

Mr. Reese joins the Board of Directors of Brown and Caldwell in Walnut Creek, California, and becomes a principal in Lempres & Wulfsberg PC in Oakland, California.

1991

Mr. Reese joins the Board of Directors of PLA Holdings, Inc. in Port Costa, California.

1996

Mr. Reese participates in the 100th Boston Marathon, the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, the Donner Lake Triathlon, the Pacific Grove Triathlon, and the Golden Gate Bridge Swim.

1998

Mr. Reese is appointed executive vice president of Wulfsberg, Reese, Ferris & Sykes PC, and participates in the Wildflower Triathlon and the Vineman (Ironman) Triathlon.

2000

Mr. Reese participates in the California Ironman in Oceanside, California, and the Hawaiian Ironman in Kona, Hawaii.

2002

Mr. Reese is appointed president and chief financial officer of Wulfsberg, Reese, Colvig & Firstman PC, and thereafter president and chief executive officer.

2003

Mr. Reese wins a unanimous decision in the Ninth Circuit Federal Court establishing limitations on federal special masters. Cardoza v. PSSC, 320 F. 3d 989, 1076 (9th Cir. 2003).

2007

Mr. Reese wins a unanimous California Supreme Court decision clarifying application of the California Government Code Claims Act to contract claims, City of Stockton v. Superior Court, 42 Cal 4th 730 (2007), and he is recognized as a Best Lawyer in the Bay Area.

2009

Mr. Reese runs the San Francisco Marathon, the Boston Marathon, the New York City Marathon, and the Big Sur Marathon.

2014

Mr. Reese merges his law firm and becomes partner at Burke, Williams & Sorensen LLP, and is also recognized as a Super Lawyer in Northern California.

2019

Mr. Reese receives the Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, and he continues to be the proud father of daughters Clarissa Reese and Alexandra Reese, and grandfather of Olivia Reese Denton.
