Ms. Duhme is born in St. Louis, Missouri to Eugene Ross and Louise Roblee McCarthy.
1939
Ms. Duhme earns a Bachelor of Art from Vassar College and begins serving as an elementary school teacher.
1941
Ms. Duhme marries Sheldon Ware, who was lost in the South Pacific during WWII in 1944.
1947
Ms. Duhme marries H. Richard Duhme, Jr.
1959
Ms. Duhme serves as a moderator with the St. Louis Association of Congressional Churches.
1961
Ms. Duhme serves as chairman of the Chautaugua Bell Tower Scholar Fund.
1964
Ms. Duhme becomes the first women trustee of the 1st Congregational Church, St. Louis.
1971
Ms. Duhme receives the Mary Alice Messerley Award for Volunteerism from the Health and Welfare Council of United Way of St. Louis, Missouri.
1974
Ms. Duhme serves as president of the board of directors of the YWCS in St. Louis, Missouri.
1976
Ms. Duhme receives the Volunteer of the Year Award from the YWCA.
1977
Ms. Duhme serves as president of the board of directors of the Family and Children’s Service of Greater St. Louis.
1989
Ms. Duhme serves as chairman of the annual fund at the YWCA in St. Louis, Missouri.
1992
Ms. Duhme receives the Alumni Award from John Burroughs School.
1995
Ms. Duhme serves on the National Council of the United Nations Association, New York.
2000
Ms. Duhme receives the Humanitarian Award from Planned Parenthood in St. Louis, Missouri.
2002
Ms. Duhme is presented with an Honorary DHL from Eden Theological Seminary.
2011
Ms. Duhme receives a Lifetime Award from the St. Louis Women’s Association.
2015
Ms. Duhme receives the Dean’s Medal from the School of Social Work, Washington University, and maintains membership with the National Council of the School of Social Work.
2017
Ms. Duhme is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and becomes a Distinguished Humanitarian with Marquis Who’s Who.
