A Timeline of Professional Milestones

1930

Ms. Potterton is born in San Francisco, California to Dale Howard and Marjorie Louise Drullinger.

1948

Ms. Potterton marries Kenneth Eugene Potterton and studies coursework at San Francisco Junior College (now City College of San Francisco).

1965

Ms. Potterton takes on her first position as an exclusive seascape artist at the Mendocino Art Center in California.

1970

Ms. Potterton earns a Merit Award from the American Society of Marine Artists, as well as a Best of Show Award from the California Art Center in Roseville, California.

1973

Ms. Potterton becomes an exclusive seascape artist at The Gallery Mendocino in California.

1975

Ms. Potterton teaches plein air classes at The Gallery Mendocino, and receives a Best of Show Award from the Stanford Center in Palo Alto, California.

1978

Ms. Potterton holds a solo exhibition at California State University, Sacramento, and serves as an exclusive seascape artist at Jack London Square Gallery on Oakland, California.

1979

Ms. Potterton becomes an exclusive seascape artist at Village Artistry in Carmel, California, and serves as a workshop lecturer and demonstrator at the Lincoln City Art Center in Oregon.

1980

Ms. Potterton joins Winters Gallery as an exclusive seascape artist.

1983

Ms. Potterton serves as a workshop lecturer at the Golden Valley Art Center in Yuba City, California.

1989

Ms. Potterton begins to hold private studio classes in Rancho Cordova, California.

1991

Ms. Potterton becomes an exclusive seascape artist at Calico Whale Gallery in Mendocino, California.

1995

Ms. Potterton joins Franki Waters Gallery in Bodega Bay, California as an exclusive seascape artist, and illustrates “Song of the Calico Whale.”

1996

Ms. Potterton illustrates “Journey to Africa,” and moves on to Color and Light in Mendocino, California as an exclusive seascape artist.

1997

Ms. Potterton becomes an exclusive seascape artist with Gallery One in Mendocino, California, and illustrates “Watch Out for Tule Petunia.”
