1950

Dr. Hodess is born in New York, New York to Samuel and Dora Hodess.

1970

Dr. Hodess graduates magna cum laude from Boston University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts.

1974

Dr. Hodess receives a Doctor of Medicine from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (now the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons).

1974

Dr. Hodess begins medical training as an intern at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also serves as an assistant instructor in the Department of Medicine at the hospital.

1975

Dr. Hodess begins a residency in medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

1977

Dr. Hodess serves as an instructor of physiology in the Department of Animal Biology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

1977

Dr. Hodess becomes a Fellow in Cardiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

1979

Dr. Hodess becomes a clinical associate in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

1979

Dr. Hodess becomes an attending cardiologist at Brandywine Hospital (now an affiliate of Tower Health) in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

1989

Dr. Hodess is appointed director of critical care at Brandywine Hospital.

1990

Dr. Hodess is appointed chief of cardiology at Brandywine Hospital.

1991

Dr. Hodess is appointed chairman of the Department of Medicine at Brandywine Hospital and president of Brandywine Valley Cardiology.

2009

Dr. Hodess joins the board of trustees and the board of directors of Brandywine Hospital.

2017

Dr. Hodess is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
