1970

Dr. Hilton receives a Bachelor of Arts in epistemology from San Jose State University.

1977

Dr. Hilton receives a Master of Arts in individualized American studies from the University of Oregon.

1986

Dr. Hilton receives a Master of Arts in teaching with a concentration in reading from National Louis University and serves as a middle school teacher in Lincoln, Illinois.

1992

Dr. Hilton becomes a teacher of education foundation courses, staff development courses, and graduate courses at Saint Xavier University.

2004

Dr. Hilton receives a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum design from the University of Illinois and becomes an associate professor at Saint Xavier University.

2008

Dr. Hilton contributes to “A Pathway Toward Curriculum, Pedagogies of the Imagination: Mythopoetic Curriculum in Educational Practice” published in London, United Kingdom.

2009

Dr. Hilton contributes to “Sage’s Encyclopedia of Curriculum” published by Sage Publishing in Thousand Oaks, California.

2013

Dr. Hilton receives the Saint Xavier Award from Saint Xavier University.

2015

Dr. Hilton becomes a certified online instructor and contributes to “Subject Matter as Experience: Guide to Curriculum in Education” published by Sage Published in Thousand Oaks.

2018

Dr. Hilton retires from education and receives the Excellence in Teaching Award from Saint Xavier University.
