1931
Dr. Richmond is born in Los Angeles, California to William Paul and Martha Emelia Richmond.
1952
Dr. Richmond receives a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of California, and begins work as an aerodynamicist with Lockheed Aircraft Company (now Lockheed Martin Corporation), and as a teaching and research assistant at the California Institute of Technology.
1953
Dr. Richmond receives a Master of Science in aeronautical engineering, as well as a research assistantship from the California Institute of Technology.
1955
Dr. Richmond marries Mary Louise Gates, and receives a grant and a teaching assistantship from the California Institute of Technology Research.
1956
Dr. Richmond serves as an aerodynamics consultant for Douglas Aircraft Company.
1957
Dr. Richmond completes his education with a PhD in aeronautical engineering from the California Institute of Technology and becomes the assistant group leader of aeronautical performance with Douglas Aircraft Company.
1959
Dr. Richmond becomes the director of engineering and advisory development at Ford Aerospace.
1976
Dr. Richmond becomes a reserve lieutenant with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
1984
Dr. Richmond serves as a subgroup leader for NATO Industrial Advisory Group #16 in Brussels, Belgium.
1987
Dr. Richmond serves as an adjunct associate professor at the University of California School of Engineering, becomes commander of the Western States Association of Sheriff’s Air Squadrons, and serves as president and board chairman of the Skylarks of Southern California.
1988
Dr. Richmond becomes director of engineering at Brunswick Defense.
1989
Dr. Richmond serves as chairman of the Orange County Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
