1937

Born to Charles Favour Abbott and Violette Doris Abbott in Sedro-Woolley, WA.

1952

At age 15, develops a new and revolutionary way to operate equipment and is hired by the manufacturer to rewrite instruction manuals.

1954

Meets 15-year-old Oranee Harward, four years before beginning a 62-year-long marriage that lasted until her passing in 2020.

1959

Earns a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Washington prior to entering law school.

1961

Serves on the editorial board of the Washington Law Review and State Bar Association Journal due to his status as a top student.

1962

Earns a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Washington in Seattle.

1963

Is a law clerk to Judge M. Oliver Koelsch of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, CA.

1964

Is admitted to the California Bar Association, establishing his own law firm in Escondido, CA until 1980.

1972

Imports antiques from Europe and establishes an antique auction business in San Diego with himself as auctioneer.

1976

Writes and publishes his first book “Do Your Own Legal Work,” which was the first of a dozen books on law and marketing.

1978

Establishes a telemarketing company with 300 employees.

1981

Is admitted to the Utah Bar Association and establishes a law firm in Provo, UT.

1983

With two partners, establishes a telemarketing company with 300 employees.

1985

Establishes a company that traveled throughout the United States and Canada, speaking to more than 75,000 people and selling products.

2005

Purchases an 80-foot yacht and travels around Canada, Alaska and waters of the western United States.

2010

Is named among the top 50 filers (34th most cases) among 600 law firms located nationwide and filing fen-phen cases.

2014

Writes and publishes “Immersion in Mormonism,” designed to help strengthen testimonies of the teaches of the LDS Church.

2020

Maintains membership with the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Utah Bar Association and California Bar Association.

2021

Maintains a close relationship with four children, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
