Dr. Lohr is born in Lexington, North Carolina to Dermot and Blanche Lohr.

Dr. Lohr receives a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina.

Dr. Lohr earns an MD from the University of North Carolina.

Dr. Lohr becomes the chief resident in the department of pediatrics at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
1970
Dr. Lohr becomes a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy, a position he holds until 1972.

Dr. Lohr becomes a trustee of the Bowman Fund of the University of Virginia.

Dr. Lohr assumes the position of medical editor for the American Board of Pediatrics.
