Mr. Horowitz is born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Aaron and Sue Horowitz.

1963

Mr. Horowitz graduates summa cum laude from the University of California, receiving a Bachelor of Arts.

1966

Mr. Horowitz receives a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Harvard Law School at Harvard University and becomes a deputy attorney general in the California Department of Justice.

1967

Mr. Horowitz is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

1967

Mr. Horowitz becomes a professor of evidence at The San Fernando Valley College of Law (now University of West Los Angeles).

1969

Mr. Horowitz becomes a partner at Goldhammer & Horowitz in Los Angeles, California.

1970

Mr. Horowitz is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States.

1972

Mr. Horowitz becomes a senior attorney in the Second Appellate District of the California Court of Appeals in Los Angeles.

1972

Mr. Horowitz serves as Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Municipal Courts of the Judicial Council of California.

1974

Mr. Horowitz authors the “Practitioners’ Guide to California Habeas Corpus,” published in the Journal of the Beverly Hills Bar Association.

1976

Mr. Horowitz becomes a partner at Horvitz, Greines & Horowitz in Encino, California.

1978

Mr. Horowitz establishes Edward J. Horowitz, A Professional Corporation in Los Angeles.

1979

Mr. Horowitz is honored as a AV Rated Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.

1985

Mr. Horowitz serves as Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court for Small Claims Appeals of the Judicial Council of California.

1990

Mr. Horowitz marries Marcia Gold Horowitz and becomes an attorney settlement officer and mediator in the Second Appellate District of the Judicial Council of California.

1996

Mr. Horowitz becomes a certified specialist in appellate law through the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California.

1999

Mr. Horowitz is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

2001

Mr. Horowitz is appointed chairman of the State Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

2017

Mr. Horowitz is honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
