Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Joseph A. and Beatrice Leclair.

1968

Received a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Stonehill College.

1970

Became supervisor of hematology at Morton Hospital in Taunton, Massachusetts

1972

Became program director school of medical technology at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.

1977

Received a Master of Science in medical laboratory science from Southeastern Massachusetts University.

1977

Served as President of the Massachusetts Association for Medical Technology.

 1980

Became an assistant professor of medical laboratory science at Southeastern Massachusetts University.

1983

Served as chair of the American Society for Medical Technology Education and Research Fund, Inc.

1984

Promoted to associate professor of medical laboratory science at Southeastern Massachusetts University.

1992

Promoted to full professor of medical laboratory science at the University of Massachusetts.

1993

Served as president of Alpha Mu Tau, national medical laboratory science honor society.

1999

Created the ASCLS Consumer Information Response Team.

2000

Served editor-in-chief of Clinical Laboratory Science.

2001

Received a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical hematology from Walden University.

Became Chancellor Professor of medical laboratory science at the University of Massachusetts.
