Dr. Jacobson is born in Chicago, Illinois to Jacob Jacobson and Rachel Weinburg.
1959
Dr. Jacobson receives a Bachelor of Science in zoology from the University of Illinois, and becomes a U.S. Public Health Service Research Fellow at Northwestern University.
1960
Dr. Jacobson marries Avis G. Jacobson.
1961
Dr. Jacobson earns a Master of Science in anatomy from Northwestern University.
1963
Dr. Jacobson receives a PhD in anatomy from Northwestern University, and becomes an Emeritus Research Biologist in the division of neuroscience at the National Institutes of Health.
1964
Dr. Jacobson serves as an assistant professorial lecturer at The George Washington University.
1965
Dr. Jacobson joins the American Association of Anatomists, serves as a research biologist with the Veterans Affairs Research Hospital of Chicago, and becomes a research associate at Northwestern University.
1967
Dr. Jacobson joins the department of anatomy as an assistant professor at Tufts University Health Sciences Campus.
1970
Dr. Jacobson joins the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society of Neurosciences.
1971
Dr. Jacobson is appointed to associate professor at Tufts University.
1973
Dr. Jacobson serves as a visiting professor in the department of neurosciences at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
1975
Dr. Jacobson joins the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital as a cytologist in neurosurgical service, and also earns the title of full professor at Tufts University.
1981
Dr. Jacobson lends his services to the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.
1994
Dr. Jacobson serves as a visiting professor in the department neuropharmacology at the Scripps Research Institute.
2003
Dr. Jacobson joins the University of California San Diego department of neuroscience as a visiting scholar.
2011
Dr. Jacobson becomes a Fulbright Scholar in the department of anatomy at the Makerere University School of Medicine in Kampala, Uganda.
2013
Dr. Jacobson serves as a reviewer on the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars.
2015
Dr. Jacobson becomes a fellow Royal Society of Arts.
2016
Dr. Jacobson earns the title of Professor Emeritus of the Department of Integrated Physiology and Pathobiology at Tufts University School of Medicine.
