Dr. Klimek is born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Frances Carol Klimek.

1968

Dr. Klimek graduates cum laude from Princeton University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts.

1972

Dr. Klimek receives a Doctor of Medicine from The Pennsylvania State University and becomes an intern in medicine at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut.

1976

Dr. Klimek completes his internship and residency in medicine and his fellowship in infectious disease at Hartford Hospital.

1976

Dr. Klimek is appointed Chief of Epidemiology at Hartford Hospital.

1977

Dr. Klimek becomes an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut.

1978

Dr. Klimek receives the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

1980

Dr. Klimek becomes senior associate editor of the American Journal of Infection Control.

1984

Dr. Klimek is promoted to associate professor at the University of Connecticut.

1985

Dr. Klimek becomes director of Subspecialty Medicine at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Klimek becomes associate chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Dr. Klimek becomes Vice President of Medical Affairs at Hartford Hospital.
